The Great American Songbook - Summer Concert

The Petworth Chorus Summer Concert has become one of the events of the Summer Season, this year’s theme is The Great American Songbook when the choir will be performing some of the songs that make up this extraordinary and huge collection. In fact so broad is it that the Chorus is barely scratching the surface. Such a mixed programme, spanning decades, means there’s something for absolutely everyone to say ‘that was my favourite’.

Gates open at 5.30 to allow time for parking, erecting gazebos and setting up your picnics. Collect your souvenir programme as you enter the auditorium before the singing commences at 6.35pm, with interval picnics from about 7.20.
Please be back in your seats by 8.35pm for the second half; you should be free to leave some time around 9.00-ish.
For 2026 we return to the, hugely convenient, Herbert Shiner School in Petworth with picnics with parking on the verdant sward of the adjacent sports field.
The Great American Songbook promises to be another Petworth Chorus triumph, brimming with warmth and musicality - not one to miss.
