A magical and accessible Christmas experience for the whole family
Discover Father Christmas in the beautiful New Building at Peterborough Cathedral, where Christmas magic awaits in a warm and welcoming setting designed with accessibility in mind.
Step inside and you’ll be surrounded by beautifully decorated Christmas trees, the wonderful scent of pine and the gentle glow of lanterns and festive lights. Tucked amongst vintage toys, Christmas letters, traditional decorations and beautifully wrapped presents, you’ll find Father Christmas waiting to welcome you.
Father Christmas will spend time with each family, chatting with the children, hearing about their Christmas wishes and sharing a special festive moment together. There will be time to pause, enjoy the atmosphere and make a treasured family memory together.
This experience has been created especially for families and visitors who need an accessible, step-free experience or who cannot access the Library Experience for another reason. The New Building provides level, easy access while still offering all the warmth, atmosphere and magic of a traditional Christmas visit. Please note that the flagstone flooring can be slightly uneven in places however this should not impede your access.
Whether you are visiting with children, parents, grandparents or siblings, this is an opportunity to share the magic of Christmas together in one of the Cathedral’s beautiful spaces.
