100 Years of Jazz & Blues With Fell Bar Brass
We want to celebrate the history of brass in jazz and blues, with some of our favourites from over 100 years of great music. From New Orleans blues and dixi-style classics of the early 1900’s, to the hey-days of big bands, swing bands and jazz bands, then right up to modern pop-jazz-folk-funk-fusion (try saying that after a drink or three!): It will be an eclectic mix of tunes, each piece chosen just because we love it.
About Fell Bar Brass: We are a quintet-and-drums brass group that came together one Monday evening in Fell Bar, where we go each week after Penrith Town Band rehearsals. We started with a small bundle of tunes, and quickly realised that this was great fun, even for other people who listened! So Fell Bar Brass became more than just the name of our whatsapp group: turning into a hard working, hard playing, brassy jazz, pop, folk and blues band.
