We are pleased to host a night of site-responsive, participatory sound art, performance and composition, inviting Lauren Tosswill for her first performance in Liverpool, plus duet work by Rachael Gibson & Poppy Philligreen, and a sharing by Bill Dietz.

Lauren Tosswill is a sound artist and performer from the coast of Maine. She uses language and voice as a means to complicate and undermine comprehension, construct absurdity, and engage in live, relational exchange with collaborators and the audience. She has been creating original sound and performance works for over a decade.

Her debut solo album, my home in the year, was released on enmossed (US) in 2018. She released 1, 2 on Hard Return (UK) in 2022. Her work also appears on the 2019 vinyl compilation Hotline, alongside artists including Raven Chacon. Tosswill’s sound and video work has been presented at institutions including Fridman Gallery, the Baltimore Museum of Art, the Institute for Contemporary Art at VCU, the University of New England, Carnegie Mellon University, and the Portland Museum of Art.
