Park Opera

For more than forty years, Park Opera has aimed to bring to its audience the very best the world of opera has to offer. The group has built an unrivalled reputation for the quality of its productions, both musically and dramatically. For many years it performed at the Wilde Theatre in Bracknell, but for the past three years it has been based at the lovely Whitty Theatre in Wokingham, where it has broadened its support and welcomed many new friends. We produce one fully staged opera a year, as well as a number of concerts both in the Whitty Theatre and local churches, in the spring and at Christmas. Our soloists are of the highest quality, and many of them have gone on to successful careers with companies such as the Royal Opera, Glyndebourne, Scottish Opera and others. Our chorus is drawn from keen amateur singers, from the local area as well as from further afield, and we are known as a fun and very friendly group, as well as being highly talented.
Our fully staged productions, notable for their superb costumes, are always sung in English, to ensure they are accessible to the audience, with a full professional orchestra. We are led by extremely experienced Music and Stage Directors, who always strive to get the very best out of all our performers, to create a memorable experience for the audience.
