In Conversation: Andy Earl and Tom Godfrey
Bonington Lecture Theatre, Nottingham, NG1 4GG
Wednesday 27th January 2027
Join renowned photographer Andy Earl in conversation with Tom Godfrey, Curator & Director of Bonington Gallery, as they explore the stories, processes and experiences behind Flash and Blur, Earl's major exhibition celebrating a remarkable career documenting some of the most influential cultural figures of the past half-century.
Spanning more than four decades, Flash and Blur brings together photography, video, and archival material, tracing Earl’s remarkable career from his time as a photography student at Nottingham Trent University (1974-1977) to the present day.
In this special evening event, Earl will discuss the development of his practice, the people and places behind the images, and the role photography has played in documenting cultural history.
Following the conversation, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the exhibition after hours, with the gallery remaining open exclusively for event attendees. This is a unique chance to hear first-hand from the artist and experience the exhibition with fresh insight into the stories behind the photographs.
This event is free to attend, but booking is essential.
