Morning Melodies at Castle Ward

Castle Ward - National Trust, Downpatrick, BT30 7BA
Wednesday 18th November 2026 11:00AM
Northern Ireland Opera’s popular daytime concert series features beautiful performances of opera’s best-loved arias, captivating duets, and timeless songs, alongside some hidden gems. Directed by Northern Ireland Opera’s Artistic Director Cameron Menzies, ‘Morning Melodies’ daytime concerts are performed by NI Opera artists showcasing principals and also artists from our Chorus Development Programme. Whether you’re a seasoned fan or interested in exploring opera for the first time, enjoy an hour in the morning of beautiful live classical music.

In November we are delighted to be performing for the first time at the beautiful and historic National Trust property Castle Ward, where Morning Melodies will take place in the mansion which has a long association with opera. Each ticket to this very special event includes a coffee/tea and a scone plus free access to the house and grounds afterwards.

Guests attending the event will have access to the grounds, with gates opening at 10.00am. There are two mobility scooters available free of charge should anyone wish to use them to explore the estate after the performance. On arrival, all visitors should check in at the ticket hut, where the team will direct them to the appropriate parking area.
