NLSO will be closing its season with a flourish on 11th July with one of its most special, ambitious and rewarding concerts in recent years: an evening with internationally acclaimed British soprano Rachel Nicholls, bringing the unparalleled musical world of Wagner's operas to your doorstep.

From the Overture to Der fliegende Holländer ("The Flying Dutchman") which condenses the rich thematic material of one of Wagner's early operas into a few thrilling minutes, through the divine Prelude and Liebestod from Tristan und Isolde to highlights of Götterdämmerung, the fourth and final part of the Ring cycle, this promises to be an evening to remember.

Fresh from performing in Das Rheingold at Grange Park Opera, established Wagnerian soprano Rachel Nicholls, whose distinguished career has taken her to major opera houses around the world, will be joining us as Isolde in the ecstatic Liebestod and as Brünnhilde in the Immolation Scene, the transcendent final scene of Götterdämmerung.
