Festive Tales
Woodhorn Museum, Ashington, NE63 9YF
Saturday 19th December 2026
Festive Tales is your chance to meet Father Christmas, tell him what you would like for Christmas and receive an early Christmas gift.
Festive Tales 2026 starts on Saturday 5 December and runs every weekend through December up to Christmas Eve, as well as Monday 21, Tuesday 22, Wednesday 23 and Friday 24 December, before Father Christmas has to leave Woodhorn to deliver presents around the world.
Festive Tales is a 30 minute group experience. Come and enjoy a festive storytime session before having your photograph taken with Father Christmas and receiving a special gift.
You can also have a go at the drop-in, family friendly festive art activities in the Pop-Up Ashington Group Hut (12-3PM).
Relaxed sessions are also available each day at 3pm for families who would benefit from a more informal and quieter experience.
Tickets are £10 per child You only need to purchase a ticket for a baby (under 1's) accompanying older children with a ticket, if you'd like them to receive a gift. The group size is limited to 30 children.
There is no additional charge for adults, but all adults must have a valid Annual Pass to attend the event at Woodhorn Museum. You can buy this online, in advance or at the gate (but make sure you arrive with plenty of time to do this on the day). Due to limited space, please note that a maximum of two adults may attend as part of each group booking, regardless of the number of children in the group. Please get in touch by email if additional carers are required for your party.
An Annual Pass is £11* for an adult, £10* for concessions (Over 60s, disabled visitors✶, Student Card Holders and adults accompanying Max Card holders). *Includes £1 optional donation. ✶Accompanying carers - Free.
You can buy your Annual Pass in advance online, as part of your event tickets, or on the gate (but make sure you arrive with plenty of time to do this on the day).
