Alexia Gardner is a British singer with Jamaican roots whose refreshing sound is turning heads and ears with her interpretations of jazz classics such as “Skylark,” delivered in a slow, easy style reminiscent of old-school female vocalists. Her instrument is well-tempered—smooth and mellow as fine wine—and her performances bring a distinctive warmth to the jazz tradition.

She began her career touring the British cabaret circuit in England and Wales during her teens, performing with her gifted younger sister Paula Gardner as a sophisticated a cappella duo called High Profile, earning acclaim for their harmonic voices.
A graduate of London’s Central School of Speech and Drama with a Bachelor of Education Honours in Speech and Drama (B.Ed Hons), Alexia first embarked on a rewarding teaching career in Birmingham, teaching Drama and English Language in secondary schools before pursuing her love of music, particularly jazz.

Her solo career has taken her across the Mediterranean on luxury cruise liners and to luxury hotel groups in Asia. She has performed for figures including the late Nelson Mandela in Kuala Lumpur (2001), Sir Sebastian Coe in Shanghai (2005), and Sir Richard Branson in Singapore (2000).

After eight years performing around Switzerland, she moved to Long Island City, New York, performing at venues including Symphony Space, Cipriani on 42nd Street, Sistah’s Place, and Jazz 966. Her latest album is Alexia Gardner Live at the Bird’s Eye Jazz Club, and her fifth vocal jazz album, Feeling The Love, will be released soon.
