Music and the the Written Word

A concert which explores the enduring relationship between music and literature. Beethoven’s impassioned Kreutzer Sonata, which inspired Tolstoy’s novella of the same name, serves as a point of departure for works shaped by Shakespeare’s timeless characters. The Fews Ensemble closes its 2026 residency with a celebration of the creative dialogue between word and music.
