Newport Heritage Open Day - St. Nicholas Church Tower Tour

Newport Bell Ringers will meet you in the bell room and tell you about the bells and bell ringing at St. Nicholas Church. Take a look inside the 'Hermit' room with its narrow windows and shutters, and see the inner working of the towers three clocks, before going ip to the tower roof to see the town from above.

Tour lasts approximately 40 minutes.

Please note: 

1. There are 100 steep, narrow stairs to the top. The bell room is the half way point.
2. Visitors should be fit and able to climb this distance and not have any heart, hip or knee conditions.
3. No children under the age of 8, due to steep, narrow stairs and low crenellations on tower.
4. All visitors agree to assume all responsibility of the risks in participating in this activity.
5. We reserve the right to cancel the tours in the event of wet weather.
