Newcastle Cathedral Choir's Candlelit Carols
Newcastle Cathedral, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE1 1PF
Monday 21st December 2026
Join Newcastle Cathedral Choir for Candlelit Carols, an evening of Christmas music in the historic surroundings of Newcastle Cathedral.
The programme ranges from ancient Advent texts and traditional carols to lullabies, lively seasonal music and contemporary choral works. Combining familiar favourites with less frequently heard pieces, the concert offers a welcome pause during the busy season approaching Christmas.
Newcastle Cathedral Choir plays a central role in the Cathedral’s worship and musical life. Recent broadcasts include BBC Radio 4’s Sunday Worship and BBC Radio 3’s Choral Evensong, while its album A Year at Newcastle was praised by BBC Music Magazine.
When booking, you can reserve a copy of the Choir’s album O Nata Lux: Music for Advent, Christmas & Epiphany to collect on the evening. It is available at the discounted price of £10 (usually £12.99).
Please note:
By attending this concert, you will help raise vital funds to care for our beautiful Cathedral, support our charitable work, and keep our doors open to all.
