July 19, 7:30 PM: Devil May Care, by Autumn Tustin
"Devil May Care"is a darkly sardonic dramedy that considers one woman's relationship with the "Devil," or whatever it is society has trained us to believe the Devil is. At its core, however, "Devil May Care" explores the female experience within a "Christian" nation- how growing up in certain contexts with certain moral "rights" and "wrongs" affects a person- because it does." - Autumn Tustin
July 20, 7:30 PM: Reconsider Me, by Jeff Dinnell
"Reconsider Me is a kind of "group study" about a circle of friends who have drifted apart. A sudden death brings them back together and catalyzes an examination of the choices they've made and why they made them, and reveals in each of them an abundance of both pain and love." - Jeff Dinnell
July 21, 2:00 PM: Is Not That Strange?, by Brian Gene White
“The theater is the only institution in the world which has been dying for four thousand years and has never succumbed. It requires tough and devoted people to keep it alive.” -John Steinbeck. The main character in Is Not That Strange?, Chris, is the embodiment of that Steinbeck quote, as she faces off against her past, her family, and the world in order to keep her small town Shakespeare Festival alive." - Brian Gene White
All readings are "Pay What You Can!"
Located at the Stanton Center, 5 Custom House Plaza, Monterey 93940
