Clarinets, Coffee and Cake

North Of England Centre for Music and Arts, Huddersfield, HD7 6NQ
Sunday 3rd May 2026
Spend your Sunday afternoon in the company of one of the world’s most versatile instruments.

From Mozart to Messiaen with a touch of jazz, the clarinet has produced more than its fair share of colourful characters who inspired the greats to write for it.

Featuring freemasonry, dumplings, a Greek god, bravery in WW2, and the (rather difficult) King of Swing. Relax with coffee and cakes as Alex South, Oliver Rundell and Sally Day take you on a journey through this wonderful instrument’s lively past with the assistance of local legends, the Rossignol String Quartet.
