Mr Handel & His Merry Musicians
In this programme, self-devised by the current Arcangelo New Ensemblists, the group will explore works composed for the brilliant orchestral musicians who played in Handel’s orchestra at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket. The music by Handel, Castrucci, Corbett, Sammartini, and Haym will show the dazzling virtuosity of both those players and the ones in this ensemble.
Arcangelo New Ensemblists is a young artist development programme founded in 2020 by the leading international period ensemble Arcangelo and Artistic Director Jonathan Cohen. The programme selects 3 to 5 outstanding young instrumentalists every two years and offers them full professional working experience as members of Arcangelo, and standalone masterclasses, marketing, profile and career support.
