The Wizard of Oz

The Wizard of Oz
Dorothy, a teenage farm girl in Kansas, dreams of seeing somewhere beyond her dull everyday life. A tornado carries her farmhouse away to Oz, where it lands on and kills the Wicked Witch of the East.
The Sorceress of the North tells Dorothy that the Wizard of Oz may be able to help her get home. Dorothy follows the Yellow Brick Road toward the Emerald City, meeting three companions along the way:

• The Scarecrow, who wants a brain
• The Tin Woodman, who wants a heart
• The Cowardly Lion, who wants courage

Together, they face the Wicked Witch of the West and her magical Jitterbugs before reaching the Emerald City.
The Wizard tells them that he will grant their wishes only if they defeat the Wicked Witch of the West. After being captured, Dorothy and her friends escape, and Dorothy ultimately defeats the Witch.
When they return to the Wizard, they discover that he isn't actually magical—he is an ordinary man who came to Oz from Omaha. Nevertheless, he gives the Scarecrow a diploma, the Tin Woodman a pocket watch, and the Lion a medal of courage, recognizing that they already possessed what they wanted.
Finally, the Wizard helps Dorothy return to Kansas, and she heads home with a new appreciation for where she belongs.
