And Then Come The Nightjars
MELBOURNE ASSEMBLY ROOMS, Melbourne, DE73 8GF
Friday 27th November 2026 7:30PM
Two men … a herd of cows … and a NATIONAL CRISIS!
WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG?
From the same creative team that gave us the hugely successful 2024 touring production of Yasmina Reza’s “ART,” CowShed Productions proudly present the multi award winning play by Bea Roberts, And Then Come the Nightjars.
A poignant and deeply moving drama set against the unlikely backdrop of the 2001 foot-and-mouth crisis, And Then Come the Nightjars is a surprisingly funny, fierce and heart-warming story of an unlikely friendship.
Michael is a stubborn Devon farmer who loves his prize-winning cows.
Jeff is a chaotic, hard-drinking local vet.
When a national emergency threatens their livelihood, these two men cope the only way they know how: with sharp wit, fierce banter, and ridiculous arguments about 1980s Dutch footballers!
This wonderful play proves that even in the darkest times laughter, loyalty and a bit of country grit can keep you afloat!
Tickets: £12.50
Theatre-style tiered seating.
Doors: 6:30 pm
On Stage: 7:30 pm
