Café Gherkinforke - Scottish Saxophone Quartet (world premiere)
Glasgow Art Club, Glasgow, G2 4HU
Thursday 1st October 2026
The Scottish Saxophone Quartet performs the world premiere of 15 new works by composers from around the world, as part of the Global Composer Project 'Café Gherkinforke', an international project created and curated by Australian composer Paul Kopetz. The programme embraces a diverse range of musical styles, from contemporary classical and film music to jazz fusion, experimental and dancehall.
Artisti Improvvisati — a happenstance convergence of musicians who share a love of life, creativity, fine food, wine, and, of course, music — will open proceedings, performing a lively mix of music ranging from classical to musical theatre.
'Café Gherkinforke' is open from 6pm — come early for a drink and something to eat, and stick around after the entertainment to mingle with the musicians and other guests. The bar will remain open, so you can relax, chat and enjoy the company.
All net proceeds from Café Gherkinforke will be donated to St Margaret of Scotland Hospice, Clydebank.
