ADHD Training - For Parents/Carers and Family of Under 18s

Online
Wednesday 9th December 2026 10:00AM
Matthew's Hub is a Hull-based charity supporting autistic adults and young people, and those with ADHD. One of our aims is to raise awareness of how best to support neurodivergent individuals and we do this through training and workshops.

We firmly believe that an academic understanding of theory is vital, and that there is nothing like training delivered from a lived experience. For this reason, our training is written and delivered by neurodivergent staff.

We cover topics such as:
  • what is ADHD?
  • myth busting
  • traits and how they present in everyday life
  • attention/hyperactivity/impulsivity
  • executive functioning
  • and much more
This introduction session is designed for parents, carers, family and friends of children, young people and young adults under 18 with an ADHD diagnosis, awaiting assessment for autism or displaying ADHD traits. This session has lived experience examples from our staff, younger members and their families. Where possible these are aimed at the ages of the family members of the attendees.  Our parents/carers sessions also have some strategies that Matthew’s Hub members have found useful.

This session is free for those living in Hull & East Riding, there is a fee for those living outside the region.

This training takes place online and a meeting link will be provided closer to the scheduled event.

Matthew's Hub are a charity based in Hull supporting people in the Hull & East Riding of Yorkshire area.
