Rachelle Atalla - Thirsty Animals
Studio Moffat, Moffat, DG10 9AH
Friday 13th November 2026 2:00PM
Join author Rachelle Atalla at Studio Moffat for a reading and signing of her novel Thirsty Animals.
With supplies in Scotland’s cities drying up, Aida is forced to return to her family’s rural farm in Southern Scotland and live with her mum. For now, they’re safe, with just enough to get by.
At the border, tensions are close to breaking point. More and more southerners are chasing the delusion that Scotland is an eternal spring, while fewer and fewer are allowed through. The service station where Aida works grows emptier by the day.
Then suspicious strangers arrive at the farm asking for help. Aida and her family face a terrible decision: how much water can they afford to share?
And then the taps are turned off.
Now they must survive long enough for the rain to come.
Copies of Rachelle's books available for sale at the event (purchase by cash or card) - or buy online and read before the event! You can bring the copy you already have for Rachelle to sign.
