Gina Soden - Interior Photography

At the heart of Gina Soden’s photography is a fascination with abandoned structures and hidden locations. Based in Reading, she travels across Europe to undisclosed sites, exploring beauty, decay, nostalgia, and neglect. Each work begins with the character of a place, shaped by slow transformation over many years. Rather than recording these settings in a detached way, she brings a lyrical sense of life and narrative through careful composition and a painterly aesthetic. Her subjects include derelict asylums, closed schools, lost industrial complexes, and once powerful civic buildings. Every image reflects the physical journey to reach it and the passage of time within it, inviting reflection on memory, fragility, and the quiet beauty that remains, within these haunting spaces today.
