Living Wage Week: Celebrating 25 Years of the Living Wage Movement

Council Chamber, Temple of Peace, Cardiff, CF10 3AP
Monday 9th November 2026 10:00AM
Join us for our annual national Living Wage Wales event. This year we are celebrating 25 years of the Living Wage Movement.

For a quarter of a century, the Living Wage movement has helped reshaped what fair pay looks like in the UK.

What began as a hopeful idea, driven by low-paid workers in organising for fair pay, has grown into one of the most successful civil society campaigns of the 21st century.
The real Living Wage makes a huge difference to thousands of workers, strengthens businesses and helps support a fairer society. As we mark this major milestone, we're celebrating how far the movement has come and setting out a clear vision for the future: creating work that works for everyone.

Join us at this event to hear from Living Wage Employers, workers, and campaigners on the difference Living Wage, Living Hours, and Living Pensions makes - and to hear about new developments across the Living Wage and Fair Work space in Wales.

Speakers include:

Adam Price MS, Cabinet Minister for Enterprise, Connectivity and Energy
Cllr Chris Weaver, Leader of Cardiff Council
Derek Walker, Future Generations Commissioner for Wales
Sparkles Cleaning Service
Campaigners from the Living Wage movement
