About Sess
Sess is a Paris-based children's illustrator. After growing up in Africa, he studied at the Atelier de Sèvres before embarking on his illustration career.
His work is inspired by his travels, nature, animals and the little moments of everyday life. Inspiration can strike anywhere — from somewhere on the other side of the world to watching his daughter play in the park or pigeons squabble over a piece of bread. Always curious, Sess loves experimenting with different styles and techniques, moving effortlessly between digital illustration, watercolour and gouache, often capturing his ideas in travel sketchbooks.
Among his recent projects, he was commissioned to illustrate Les Nouvelles Aventures de Petit Vampire, based on the world created by Joann Sfar and published by Éditions Rue de Sèvres.
And when he's not drawing, you might find him decorating his beard just to make his daughters laugh!
