The People's Emergency Briefing - A Social Justice Evening
Mill Hill Chapel, Leeds, LS1 5EB
Wednesday 18th November 2026 5:30PM
Want to take action for a better society but don’t know where to start? Or are you a seasoned campaigned looking to network with like-minded people? Leeds Sanctuary's Social Justice Lunches (or in this case, Social Justice Evening!) are a space for everyone who dreams of a better world; whether you’re a seasoned campaigner or a budding activist, you’re very welcome.
This November, Leeds Sanctuary and Mill Hill Chapel are partnering to bring you a screening of "The People's Emergency Briefing".
The film features footage from last November’s National Emergency Briefing, which brought together leading UK experts in climate science, food security, health, economics, national security and nature. It presents a clear, measured overview of how the climate and nature crisis is affecting everyday life in Britain, and what the evidence says about risks and responses. The initiative is explicitly non-partisan and is supported by a wide range of organisations including National Trust, Church of England, Exeter University, the Royal Meteorological Society, WWF, National Education Union, and many more.
We will be serving dinner at 5.30pm on Wednesday 18 November, before watching the film and discussing our reflections afterwards.
Please let us know of any dietary requirements you have as you book your ticket. We will be ordering food on Wednesday the 11th of November and so should you book your ticket after this date, we cannot guarantee that your dietary requirements will be met (though we'll do our best!)
As a charity, we are committed to keeping our events and communities as affordable as possible, and so we have introduced a pricing structure for this event which allows you to choose the price which is best suited to you. Here’s a quick guide to help you decide which ticket to select on the next page:
Lower cost ticket - £4. Our most affordable ticket price.
Recommended price ticket - £7. If you have some flexibility in your monthly outgoings, choosing this ticket covers your dinner in full.
Pay-it-forward ticket - £10. Selecting this option will support the work of Leeds Sanctuary and enable us keep offering events and activities that are affordable to everyone.
If you would like to come but cannot afford to buy your ticket, please contact [email protected] for a code which will allow you to book your ticket at no cost to you.
