Outdoor Cliff Cinema
Two Local Films, One Incredible Evening
Join us for a unique outdoor cinema experience as two inspiring, locally made documentaries are projected onto the spectacular white chalk cliffs of the South Coast.

The evening begins with Leave No Trace Brighton, a powerful documentary co-created by Daniel Satchell and Coral Evans, following the incredible work of the volunteer-led community group dedicated to protecting our coastline. Featuring stunning cinematography, underwater footage, local voices and environmental experts, the film explores the impact of marine pollution while celebrating the people making a real difference.

Following a short interval, enjoy Hotpipe Hillbillies, a heartfelt and humorous documentary from Friday Film Club Productions. Set in Shoreham, the film follows a close-knit community of surfers who have turned an unlikely industrial outfall into one of Britain's most unique surf breaks. It's a celebration of friendship, resilience and South Coast surf culture.

This special one-night event offers the rare opportunity to watch both films under the stars against the dramatic backdrop of the chalk cliffs.
Whether you're passionate about the environment, surfing, local filmmaking or simply looking for an unforgettable summer evening, this is an event not to be missed.

Please bring your own chair or blanket and dress appropriately for the weather.
We look forward to welcoming you for an unforgettable evening celebrating our coastline, our community and the stories that make the South Coast so special.

Weather Contingency
Our planned screening date is Saturday 22 August. As this is an outdoor event, we have reserved Saturday 29 Augustas a weather contingency date.

If the event cannot go ahead on 22 August due to unsafe weather conditions, it will automatically be rescheduled to 29 August, and all tickets will remain valid—there is nothing you need to do.

If you are unable to attend on 29 August, you may either request a refund or choose to leave your ticket value as a donation to Leave No Trace Brighton, helping to support their ongoing environmental work.

In the unlikely event that both 22 August and 29 August have to be cancelled due to adverse weather, we will aim to reschedule the screening for Spring 2027. All tickets will be transferable to the new date, or you may request a full refund if you are unable to attend.
