Book and Network Launch: East German Perspectives on Transformation after 1989
Online
Monday 9th November 2026 5:30PM
This online event begins with a book launch for the volume East German Perspectives on Transformation after 1989: Experiencing, Remembering, and Responding to Unification, ed. by Anna Saunders and Caroline Summers (Camden House, 2026). We look forward to welcoming panellists Charlotta Seiler-Brylla (Stockholm University), David Clarke (Cardiff University) and Debbie Pinfold (University of Bristol) to share their thoughts on the volume, followed by a discussion and Q&A.
This will be followed by an initial meeting of colleagues interested in participating in a research network focusing on the memory of 1989/90 from an international perspective. The intention is for a network to connect participants virtually to begin with, for example by hosting informal work-in-progress presentations and thematic discussions, with the potential for in-person meetings further down the line.
