Lathallan Young Musician of the Year 2026

47 pupils from J6 to S6 competed in the heats last week. It was lovely to hear such a wide range of instruments and voices, and the standard of performances was so high. All of the children should be very proud of putting themselves forward.

This event will be a showcase of the 25 pupils who make it through to the final. On the night, they will take to the stage to perform in front of a panel of three external judges.

The competition will feature two age groups - Intermediate (J6 to S2) and Advanced (S3 to S6). Each group will have two performance categories: Instrumental and Vocal.

Winners will be crowned in each category for both age groups, culminating in the selection of the overall Lathallan Young Musician of the Year
