Ukrainian Amateur Theatre: Robinson Crusoe
Montrave Hall, Lundin Links, KY8 6AH
Saturday 29th August 2026
New World Robinsons: Sails of Hope, Waves of Dreams
Three hundred and fifty years after Alexander Selkirk was born just up the road in Lower Largo, the castaway story comes home in an unexpected voice.
The Ukrainian Amateur Theatre brings its musical Robinson to Montrave Hall, a bold retelling of the Crusoe story through modern rhythms, vivid costume and dynamic performance. Written and directed by Varvara Mishina, and first staged with Refugee Festival Scotland, it is a show about resilience, faith, hard work and the strength of spirit when circumstances are at their hardest. Sung and staged by a company who know something about being far from home, it gives Selkirk's tale a resonance that reaches well beyond the shoreline.
Ukrainian and Scottish creativity, one island story, and a fitting close to our Selkirk 350 celebrations.
We are operating this as a free event with optional donation ticket amounts that help us cover costs, and any additional income will go to the company. Pick the tier that fits your circumstances this month. Every seat is equally welcome, and nobody at the door will know what you paid.
