Women's Movement & Dance Evening in Hassocks
Keymer Church Hall, Hassocks, BN6 8BN
Friday 20th November 2026 7:45PM
We are running a monthly dance and movement evening for women and would love for you to join us. Inspired by improvisational dance and other free-flow dance practices, this is a space to connect with our bodies and each other, release what no longer serves us, and replenish our spirits.
Sessions are structured in two parts. The first part will include guided exploration through gentle movement improvisations and simple exercises that are accessible to all. It supports us to tune into sensation, expanding our movement ‘vocabulary’ in a playful way and helping us to regulate our nervous system.
The second part will be a free-flowing exploration of our bodies, emotions and rhythms to a carefully curated musical Journey— ranging from contemporary to world music and high-energy drum and bass, eventually settling into soulful, quiet tracks. This part allows for self and group led exploration, moving at the pace and way that feels right to you, with gentle guidance offered by teachers to encourage energy flow.
This is a women-only space, specifically designed to help us navigate the unique challenges we face as women, mothers, colleagues, and those on the peri and menopausal journey.
What to expect:
*Zero Experience Needed: No set choreography or "right" way to move. Just follow your internal rhythm.
*A Safe Atmosphere: We will dance in a dimly lit room to allow for a private, non-judgmental experience.
*A Non-Verbal Journey: We will let go of the "mental load" through movement rather than words.
