Join us at Rewilding Coombeshead (RWCH) for an unforgettable three-day immersive experience designed to Rewild Your Art.
Led by international artist and Director of Keep It Wild CIC Nick Viney this small-group retreat immerses us in the breathtaking rewilded landscape. You’ll gain exclusive guided access to the onsite Species Recovery Centre (SRC), where we will see native British species like wild cat, lynx and beaver.
Together, we will explore techniques to free up your creativity, build your artistic confidence drawing inspiration from close encounters with native wildlife, weaving their presence into your creative practice.
Highlights of Your Stay
- Key Native Species Spotting: Close encounters and reintroduction insights featuring Eurasian beavers, Eurasian lynx, wildcats, water voles, white storks, and more to build your visual resource material.
- Rewilding Habitats: Guided explorations through dynamic restoration sites at RWCH, offering a fresh, inspiring aesthetic far beyond typical landscape surroundings.
- Night Safaris: Dusk beaver watches, guided bat walks, and nocturnal moth identification.
- Creative Guidance: Personal support and techniques to free up your work and "rewild" your artistic approach.
What Will You See?
While working with wildlife always requires a little patience, our beaver watches have a stellar track record! Plus, our guided tour of the Species Recovery Centre’s captive breeding facility ensures close-up experiences with white storks, water voles, harvest mice, wildcats, and potentially lynx.
How Can You Express Yourself?
This is so much more than a standard painting course. While we fully support visual arts—whether you paint, draw, or create 3D work—you are equally welcome to explore long-form writing, poetry, or movement.
Wherever your creativity leads, this course offers a safe, nurturing space to explore it. Ecological regeneration is a bold act of creativity, and we use nature to inspire that same boldness in your practice. You’ll deepen your understanding of native British wildlife, their role in the ecosystem, and the concept of "wholescape" connectivity—using art as a powerful form of non-violent communication.

Who Is This Retreat For?
This retreat is for anyone eager to develop their creative practice around nature, native British wildlife, and restored landscapes, while gaining personal confidence and well-being. Guided by experts, you'll discover where UK nature stands today and build a vivid vision for a wildlife-rich future.
What Will You Leave With?
Experiencing species lost from our lands and understanding the immense effort required to bring them back can be deeply moving. Reimagining a landscape once again thriving with life is important work. Art is the ideal vehicle to process these reflections. "What is possible in art becomes thinkable in life" Rob Hoskins .
You will leave with a new body of work, refreshed techniques, and hope in your heart for the future of our landscapes.
