Who You Are In Your Mask - Sculpture Workshop

Delapre Abbey Preservation Trust, Northampton, NN4 8AW
Thursday 6th November 2025
This event is intended for students aged 9-15 who are home-schooled.
It is a 5 week course (ideally you must be available to attend all sessions to complete the work, but just let us know if you need to miss one).

Join artist Jonathan Reynolds to explore who you are inside your mask.
Jonathan's work uses pop culture and sci-fi to explore what it means to be neuro-divergent.
Follow us on instagram to see some examples of his work and that of previous workshop participants...
He will share his process of mask making from design concept, sculpting with foam clay to painting and surface decoration.
You will be given a papier mache mask base which can be sculpted and built onto.

Jonathan is autistic and this project is intended to offer neuro-divergent students and those with additional needs the chance to see adults, who also have the same needs, in positions of leadership. Jonathan will be supported by his assistant Karl.
Neuro-typical students are also welcome to join in the sessions.

The course of 5 sessions x90 mins is offered for free thanks to support from Arts Council England and Delapre Abbey.
We are keeping the groups small (6 students max).
A parent or carer must attend along with the student (you can either join the session with us or take a walk in the grounds and be 'on call', whatever you think is right for your child).
If the student has higher support needs they are very welcome. Please give us a call on 07795 810861 to discuss so we can make sure we are supported appropriately).
