There's No Place Like Rome!
Get ready for a riotous Roman adventure packed with laughter, music, mayhem and audience participation as “There’s No Place Like Rome", the spectacular family pantomime by Mark Jack, comes to the stage.
Journey back to Ancient Rome, where all is far from well in the Empire. The kind-hearted Emperor Nauseous cannot understand why his people are unhappy, while his scheming and thoroughly unpleasant son Bilious has ambitions far beyond his station. With plots, poison and plans for conquest brewing, only courage, friendship and true love can save the day.
At the heart of the story is the blossoming romance between the beautiful Penne Pasta and the dashing Prince Alexander of Egypt. But with the villainous Bilious determined to seize power and make Penne his queen, the path to true love is anything but straightforward.
Along the way audiences will meet a host of unforgettable characters, including the larger-than-life Dame Lotta, the delightfully hopeless guards Maximus and Minimus, the glamorous Cleopatra, and even a lovable camel named Camilla.
Filled with colourful costumes, catchy songs, outrageous jokes, slapstick comedy, and plenty of opportunities to cheer the heroes and boo the villains, "There's No Place Like Rome" delivers everything audiences love about traditional pantomime. From bustling Roman marketplaces to the palaces of Egypt, this fast-paced adventure is perfect family entertainment for all ages.
Will true love triumph? Will evil get its comeuppance? Will Bilious finally get what he deserves? And is there really any place quite like Rome?
