Dir Elliot Tuttle | USA | 2025 | 82 mins | Rated 18 | English
Aaron Eagle, a Los Angeles camboy specialising in financial domination, is offered $50,000 for one night with an anonymous online viewer. When he arrives, his masked client, a former school teacher, sets up a camera and begins asking increasingly personal questions, and Aaron realises their connection isn't random: the two share a disturbing tie to Aaron's past. Over one tense night, the two men clash in an escalating psychological confrontation, wrestling with buried trauma, guilt, and power. This provocative two-hander examines repression, abuse, and shame with unflinching intensity.
Starring Reed Birney, Kieron Moore
AWARDS AND FESTIVALS
Montclair Film Festival: Nominee, Future/ Now award
REVIEWS
"Blue Film provokes and captivates in equal measure, with the naked honesty of a black box off-off-Broadway play." Jourdain Searles, The Hollywood Reporter
"I left this movie with an exhilarated kind of heaviness. Here is a work of art that wants to know what makes us us." Wesley Morris, The New York Times
"Leaves you feeling a little bit ill, and very uneasy about how you’re supposed to feel. But when most films either wouldn’t dare go here at all, or would tell you how to feel about the material, that’s rare and welcome." Ryan Lattanzio, IndieWire
"Our want to be desired and our need to be loved often look identical, but they’re worlds apart. And it’s in that space between desire and love where “Blue Film” does its most fascinating work." Coleman Spilde, Salon.com
