Welcome to the mixed ability Science club.
Session 2-the muscular system.
We will look at the muscular skeletal system. Ligaments and tendons. We will have the microscopes out. And I will aim to show you a dissection of a chicken wing. You don't have to look if you don't want to as there will be other things on at that time.
What to bring- nothing this time.
The sessions are always hands on, practical based with no need to read write anything.
My sessions are designed in a way that we have a base line that all abilities can access and the children can then dictate the level of scientific knowledge and skills they wish to learn
We are going to focus on the human body systems over the next number of sessions.Session 2-the muscular system.

Suitable age- This session is designed for children from age 5 and up to age 12.
The content will be KS2-KS3 level and pitched depending on the direction the kids push it in. It is very much kid led regarding the level of science and where their questions take us.

Parents/carers have to stay- Currently, parents/carers must remain in the building. Feel free to join in or just sit and take a breather.
Please be prepared to assist if your child requires assistance with practical skills or the toilet.

Fully inclusive sessions-My aim is to make these sessions fully inclusive and accessible for all. In order to do this It would be helpful if we can work together before the event. Please contact me if you have any requirements, or triggers to avoid or if you would like details of any aspects of the building or the session.
Risk assessment.
All risks will be discussed with children and parents before any of the experiments. Parents will be responsible in making sure their children are following any safety instructions. It is important that you let me know of an allergies you or your child have in advance. There is a box in the questionnaire part for this. This enables me to plan accordingly.
It is likely that we will be looking at raw meat in this session. No one has to touch it. And if they wish, appropriate hygiene rules will be followed. Toilets-The toilets are in another room. Please can you safely escort your child if they need it.
Fire exits-There will be two exits. Both lead close to a busy main road. These doors will be easy to access and exit. Please be mindful if you have younger children.
