Calligraphy Class with Jada Scruggs

Join us for a two hour class led by local calligraphy artist Jada Scruggs.
Instructor Bio: Jada has always had a love for beautiful handwriting. As a young girl, she loved learning cursive in school and filled up notebooks and notebooks of letters. As an Elementary Education major, she loved the handwriting courses. As a young mom, Jada discovered the book Mastering Copperplate Calligraphy by Elenor Winters. She would sneak away to her dining room while her littles napped and study the book from cover to cover, using that sacred nap time to practice and fill up pages and pages of letterforms. To further her practice and love for beautiful handwriting, she offered to address wedding envelopes as a gift to her friends. Today, Jada continues to practice the tradition of copperplate calligraphy with a fresh modern aesthetic through wedding invitation design and her own line of prints. When she does not have a pen in hand, she’s the logistics manager for her four school-aged kids, she loves to take long walks with friends, arrange flowers and dream about cooking from her collection of cookbooks one day again.
