Use this RSVP if you are NOT riding with us on the group bike ride, but will join us for the pre-ride event from 10-11am. Get a coffee or breakfast, come and go as you please, and watch performances pop-up around Chophouse Row and inside Tailwind Café. There will be a 10min group performance at 11am to send off the group bike ride!
Event Description
Heap Troupe, a Seattle-based performance troupe co-founded by Kara Beadle, Andy Zacek, and several collaborators, are excited to announce the first large-scale performance experience, HeapRide. HeapRide is a series of three 3-hour guided group bicycle ride featuring pop-up performances along the routes and 2 stationary performances at Tailwind Café and Freeway Park.
Because dance and bicycling are both powerful mediums of social change, Heap uses movement, costumes, and sound--shaped by their experiences as bicyclists--to spark conversation about our city’s efforts toward making alternative forms of transport more accessible, while critiquing the continued predominance of car usage.
This event is presented by Kara Beadle who is a City Artist Grant recipient funded by the City of Seattle Office of Arts & Culture. This project is fiscally sponsored by Velocity Dance Center.
