Thrown In Sessions #7: Niamh Corkey / So So Sad
The Deep End, Glasgow, G41 2PZ
Sunday 13th December 2026
Join us for Glad Radio's final acoustic session, on the second Sunday afternoon of December.
From 3:30pm to 6:00pm on Sunday 13th December, we'll have sets by Niamh Corkey and So So Sad.
We're delighted to welcome Niamh Corkey, one of the finest young musicians in Scotland. In just a couple of years Niamh has established herself as an essential feature of our musical landscape, loved and acclaimed for her sublime singing, sense of melody and burgeoning songwriting talent. Her debut EP I’ll Meet You More Than Halfway There came out earlier this year, and she's currently in the running for the Sound of Young Scotland Award, to be announced at the SAY Award ceremony in November. Niamh also contributes extensively to the music of others, including Siobhan Miller, The Black Denims, Kris Drever, Capercaillie, Blue Rose Code, Michael Cassidy, Siobhan Wilson and many more.
The afternoon will also provide a rare opportunity to see So So Sad, who are the duo Cathryn Rudie and Chris Brambley. Their debut EP Broken Pieces, combines beautiful guitar playing, electronic touches and well-honed songwriting. Catherine, originally from Sutherland, previously released the acclaimed album The Möbius Kiss.
This is a family-friendly afternoon show. There's no licence for alcoholic drinks, but soft drinks and snacks will be on sale.
The Deep End is an arts space and social enterprise developed by Govanhill Baths Community Trust, where Glad Radio, a community podcasting charity, has its studio.
