Girton Jazz presents Delfeayo Marsalis Quintet ft Eric Alexander (CAMBRIDGE JAZZ FESTIVAL)

Delfeayo Marsalis (trombone), Eric Alexander (tenor sax), Renato Chicco (piano), Glen Fisher (bass), Joris Dudli (drums).

Grammy-winning producer, trombonist, composer and NEA Jazz Master Delfeayo Marsalis heads up a world class band featuring prolific US tenor sax star Eric Alexander. The Delfeayo Marsalis Quintet blends the raw emotion of the blues with the modern sounds of original compositions and the elegance of classic American songs. Joined by saxophone powerhouse Eric Alexander on the front line and a first-class rhythm section with Renato Chicco on piano, Glen Fisher on bass and Joris Dudli on drums, Marsalis takes audiences on a journey that starts in the streets of New Orleans, passes through the blues clubs of Chicago, and lands in the storied ballrooms of Harlem in its heyday, with plenty of stops on the way! From Armstrong to Parker, Gershwin to Monk (with the Jazz Crusaders in the mix), the Delfeayo Marsalis Quintet is a show that brings an unmatched excitement and joy to the stage!

An unmissable opportunity to see a world class band on one of only two UK appearances. Presented by Girton Jazz in collaboration with Peterborough Jazz.
