The Battle of Monmouth: No, Not That One… The Other One!
Gather Round: Monmouth Festival of Stories
Think you know the Battle of Monmouth? Think again.
Medieval historian Rob Jones takes us back to one of Monmouth’s most intriguing—and least remembered—battles.
It’s a battle you’ve heard of… but it isn’t that battle.
Its chief protagonist is Marshal, Earl of Pembroke… but not that Marshal, Earl of Pembroke.
And it was fought as part of a baronial rebellion aimed at controlling a king… but it isn’t that rebellion.
Confused? Good. Come along as Rob unravels the story of Monmouth’s most famous, least famous battle—with plenty of medieval intrigue, rebellion and royal power struggles along the way.
