Forest Plays Mayer and Tchaikovsky
St. Gabriel's Church, London, E12 5HH
Sunday 14th March 2027 6:30PM
Conductor Mark Shanahan
Leader Sophie Cameron
EMILIE MAYER Symphony no. 7 in F minor
TCHAIKOVSKY Symphony no. 6 in B minor, Op. 74 'Pathetique'
In an evening filled with music full of beauty and intensity, this concert sees our first ever performance of a work by German composer Emilie Mayer (often known as ‘the female Beethoven’): her F minor Symphony from 1856, which is widely acclaimed as one of her very best compositions. We are placing this alongside Tchaikovsky’s much-loved last composition.
A full list of our concerts for our 2026-27 season can be found at https://www.ticketsource.com/forest-philharmonic-orchestra, and if you are interested in purchasing a season ticket or have any other questions please contact [email protected]
