St. Gabriel's Church, London, E12 5HH
Sunday 29th November 2026 6:30PM
Conductor Mark Shanahan
Leader Sophie Cameron
Soloists Tim Crawford (violin) and Emma Wernig (viola)
BEETHOVEN Egmont Overture
MOZART Sinfonia Concertante in E flat, K364
SIBELIUS Symphony no. 6 in D minor, Op. 104
Our second concert of the season features one of Mozart’s most remarkable pieces, where the voices of violin and viola are contrasted and intertwined. Tim Crawford and Emma Wernig, our soloists for this evening are rising young players, working as chamber musicians and soloists. In the second half we present Sibelius’s Sixth Symphony, an enigmatic work but for many Sibelius lovers a firm favourite.
