An evening with Rosie Walsh and Clare Leslie Hall: The One Day You Were My Husband & Broken Country

The Grosvenor Arms, Shaftesbury, SP7 8JA
Tuesday 26th May 2026
Join us for an evening in conversation with million-copy bestselling authors, Rosie Walsh and Clare Leslie Hall, to celebrate their novels The One Day You Were My Husband and Broken Country.

With twists, yearning, and deep emotional stakes, The One Day You Were My Husband is the edge-of-your-seat love story of the year from the New York Times bestselling author of The Man Who Didn’t Call and The Love of My Life.

‘This love story is part thriller, part tearjerker – you'll never see the twists coming’ – Beth O’Leary, author of The Flatshare

‘Heart-stopping . . . as unputdownable as it is brilliantly told. Rosie Walsh is one of those rare authors who delivers twisting plots along with gorgeous prose, all-too-real characters, and emotional depth. I couldn’t sleep until I finished this book!’ –  Carley Fortune, bestselling author of One Golden Summer

A love story with the pulse of a thriller, Broken Country is a heart-pounding novel of impossible choices and devastating consequences, an instant Sunday Times and New York Times bestseller.

'An unforgettable story of love, loss, and the choices that shape our lives . . . but it's also a masterfully crafted mystery that will keep you guessing until the very last page. Seriously, that ending?! I did not see it coming' –
Reese Witherspoon

'I defy you not to be in tears by the end of this book' –  Harriet Tyce, author of Witch Trial

Just for our audience: Everyone who pre-orders the book (includes entry) for The One Day You Were My Husband will receive a custom design tote bag with goodies, including a beautiful limited edition sprayed edge hardback, which can be signed and dedicated by Rosie at the event, a scented candle, and a foil bookmark, and you will also be able to grab a complimentary drink for the evening.
