GeogLive! 35 Local Geography - Start time 5pm

Where is your school located?  Whether in a small village, a suburban estate or near the city centre,  local geography is a winner!  Through local area studies children develop and deepen their knowledge and understanding of otherwise abstract geographical concepts and processes through real-life enquiries in a familiar environment. Equally important,  local geographical investigations foster a strong sense of identity, belonging and pride in the local area and community. They affirm to children that their place, no matter how apparently ordinary, is of value and significance, and worthy of study.
