The Michael Pennie Gallery is the purpose-built gallery of Bath Spa University situated within the Locksbrook campus. It supports and curates a programme of exhibitions and events aimed at providing inspiration for creative practice with a view to develop a platform for critical thinking across a variety of media, disciplines, cultures, and contexts.

Our aim is to facilitate learning and engagement opportunities through a vibrant exhibition programme for both faculty and students, as well as the wider local community. Aligning with BSU's mission for 2030 by employing creativity and innovation to address contemporary challenges, we aspire to contribute to the university's reputation as a leader in the production of knowledge by using exhibitions as a tool for both aesthetic and analytical exploration.

The Michael Pennie Gallery is first and foremost a professional exhibition venue and as such, events and exhibitions hosted by and associated with the MPG aspire to professional standards on a level with other contemporary galleries of its nature. We host a variety of exhibitions and events aimed at reflecting, representing and in turn, inspiring the various disciplines found in the respective schools of Art, Film & Media and Design.
