Emerald City Stageworks Presents: MATILDA JR
Battle Memorial Hall, East Sussex, TN33 0AQ
Thursday 9th April 2026 - Saturday 11th April 2026
Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical JR. is a high-energy stage adaptation of the beloved story about a brilliant little girl with a big imagination and an even bigger sense of justice. Packed with unforgettable songs, lively choreography, and plenty of humour, this junior version brings the magic of Matilda to life in a show perfect for young performers and audiences alike.
Matilda Wormwood is no ordinary child. While her parents think she’s a nuisance and her terrifying headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, believes children should be seen and not heard, Matilda discovers she has extraordinary intelligence — and perhaps even extraordinary powers. With courage, cleverness, and the help of her kind teacher Miss Honey and her school friends, Matilda dares to stand up for what is right.
Join Emerald City Stageworks as our talented young cast brings this joyful and rebellious musical to the stage at Battle Memorial Hall. Full of wit, heart, and a celebration of imagination, Matilda The Musical JR. reminds us that even the smallest person can change the story.
Directed by Ben Watson
Choreographer Rebecca Hastings
