Wildlife Gardening: What Really Works — with Jane & Steve Page
Titchfield Village Hall (Parish Rooms), Fareham, PO14 4AQ
Wednesday 11th November 2026 7:30PM
Wildlife Trust ‘Wilder Garden’ Champions Steve and Jane Page talk about the discoveries, delights and dilemmas they encounter as they make more space for nature in their garden. Not a ‘how to’ talk about wildlife gardening, this is their real life account of some of the joys and challenges experienced on the way.
Pines Corner isn't a conventional garden. Built on a challenging plot dominated by mature Scot's pines, it trades tidy lawns and orderly borders for a mosaic of habitats: wildflower meadow, hedgerows, dragonfly ponds, bee hotels, log piles, a dead hedge, a mini woodland, and a "secret" garden — all designed to give bugs, birds, bees and butterflies somewhere to thrive.
This session is a rare chance to hear directly from Jane & Steve about what actually works: how they've shaped a real, imperfect suburban plot into a genuine wildlife refuge, the mistakes they've learned from, and practical ideas you can take straight back to your own garden — however big or small.
What to expect:
