Cowal Comedy Club presents: Scott Agnew and Friends
Dunoon Burgh Hall, Dunoon, PA23 7DD
Friday 4th December 2026
The best of Scottish comedy is coming to Dunoon as Cowal Comedy Club presents another night of top quality stand up - perfect for a festive night out!
Our headline act is the brilliant Scott Agnew. A former Scottish Comedian of the Year and two-time nominee for the Sir Billy Connolly Spirit of Glasgow Award, Agnew is one of the country's top comics. He's a regular panellist on BBC Scotland's Breaking The News as well as appearing in BBC Scotland's TV show Comedy Underground, and has supported the likes of Kevin Bridges, Janey Godley, Jim Jeffries and Dylan Moran. "Likening him to Billy Connolly would seem trite if it weren’t accurate. Always hilarious.” (FringeGuru); "A comedic thrill ride, searingly honest, exploding with humanity, laugh out loud funny from beginning to end" (The Scotsman).
Opening the show is Canadian force of nature Kate Hammer. Sometime goat farmer and government-approved-comedian (her visa proves it) Kate has made a huge splash in the local scene since coming to Scotland, reaching the final of the Funny Women comedy award 2025, and the semi-finals of the Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year competition. She recently made her Edinburgh Fringe debut, receiving the prestigious Brass Tacks and Blackfriars Fringe bursary. “A brilliant, wild force of nature full of silliness and fun” (Josie Long); “Great charisma and dynamism, both physical and verbal" (Chortle).
We will also be joined by Kirsty Lynch, a relatable storyteller who has performed at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival, Edinburgh Fringe, Leicester Comedy Festival and Manchester women in comedy festival.
The host for the evening will be Dunoon’s own Roddy Gordon, who is resident compere at Blackfriars Comedy Club in Glasgow and was nominated for the Sir Billy Connolly Spirit of Glasgow Award as part of Glasgow International Comedy Festival 2024.
