Dudley Museum at the Archives, Dudley, DY1 4SQ
Saturday 31st October 2026 11:15AM
Free fossil handling session suitable for ages 6yrs+. Get hands on with fossils and learn about what they tell us about life in the past.
What can I expect from this session?
This session is a chance to handle fossil specimens and begin to understand what life was like in the past. Our friendly geologist Mark will cover what fossils are, how they form and what they can tell us about life in the past including right here in Dudley. The session will be 30-45 minutes long.
Can I bring my own fossils?
Yes. You do not have to as we have plenty of museum specimens to get hands on with. If you do bring your own fossils we can learn about them together.
How do I book?
Select a time slot and simply book a ticket for either an individual or a family or group (MAX 5 people per ticket).
Parking is available at the site and the museum is on the first floor accessible by a lift or stairs.
Hope to see you to share in the wonders of the ancient world.
Please be aware there are major roadworks at Burnt Tree Junction. We are advising that you allow extra time for your journey.
