The Rooftoppers: A Scratch Adaptation

Doorstep Youth Theatre Rep Company present: an early scratch performance of their devised adaptation of Katherine Rundell's classic book The Rooftoppers.
When a ship unexpectedly sinks in the English Channel, a foundling child called Sophie is rescued by Charles Maxim, an unlikely guardian. Amidst a happy if unconventional childhood, Sophie seeks the missing mother she is convinced still exists. Later, on the run from the authorities, they escape to Paris where Sophie finds Matteo, a boy who walks tightropes and lives in the sky. In a race across the rooftops of Paris, will they be able to find her mother, before its too late?
An original adaptation of a classic children's book, co-created by the members of Doorstep Youth Theatre Rep Company with support from Lead Artists Erin Walcon & Mich Sanderson, and featuring a soundtrack of music created and performed via their in-house band.
